DESCRIPTION:About Volunteer  \nThinking more about food waste\, what can we do….? \nTry out the volunteer work at The Food Bank Singapore with us! \n  \nSchedule \n– Meeting directory at The Food Bank Singapore Office at Tanjong Pagar. \n– Attendees will have 15 minutes lecture about “The food waste in Singapore and The Food Bank Singapore’s work”. \n– Attendees* will be welcomed to work as volunteer at the The Food Bank Singapore Warehouse\, we may ask some work to move bulky and heavy stuff too. \n*More than 5 years old are kids are welcomed too. \n-If you can’t stay over 3 hours\, do not worry please let us the duration that you can stay. \n  \nRemarks \nAll volunteers are to be in covered shoes and comfortable wear. \nDo bring along bottled water if required. \nYou can bring along face towel or clothes to change if required. \n  \nAbout Food Waste \nAccording to the NEA(National Environment Agency)\, Singapore wasted approximately 790\,000 tonnes of food in 2014….(Quoted from Channel New Asia\, please click their link to know more about the story.) \n  \nAbout The Food Bank Singapore \nProbably the first question on your mind right now is “What is a food bank?” \nTo make it really simple\, a food bank is a place where companies or people can come to deposit or donate their unused or unwanted food which will then be collected and allocated to the needy through a network of member beneficiaries such as family service centres\, various types of homes\, soup kitchens\, and other VWOs.As the price of food continues to rise\, many middle to low income families have problems putting food on the table as salaries are not increasing as quickly. Moreover\, based on our observation\, we do know that there are pockets of unused food within the food industry that can most certainly be put to better use. \nTherefore\, based on our sincere passion for food\, The Food Bank Singapore was set out by Nichol & Nicholas Ng. Let’s change the world from your plate\, kitchen and cooking\, with us. Origins of Food Cooking Classes is a series of cooking classes run by The Farrer Park Hotel. Come join us to learn all the works about the culinary world! \n\n \n\n Project 7 (Singapore Signature Dishes) S$80++/per person (minimum number of the class will be 4).\nOr the class can be started just  from 2  S$150++ per person(total S$300++) as a private class\, please inquiry us at info@alchemist.sg for the private class.\n \n\nLet us share with you some forgotten cuisine from our colorful history of immigrants from China\, India\, Indonesia\, Malaysia & Far East which makes for a global culinary melting pot.\n1. Herbal Bak Kut Soup\n2. Hainanese Chicken Rice & Chilli.\n3. Chilli Crab\n \n Remarks: Please bring hair band or hair clip if your hair is long.\n \n\n TERMS & CONDITIONS \n1. GENERAL INFORMATION This class is opened for attendees 12 years old and above only. Wine Classes are for attendees who are 18 years old and above only. Spoonful and or its partner will send future class info or promotion info via e-mail to the attendees after the class.\n 2. RISK ACKNOWLEDGEMENT You agree to comply with and abide by Spoonful’s safety and health directions\, fire and safety regulations.
