DESCRIPTION:Japan’s Niigata Prefecture and the Foundation of Niigata Industrial Creation Organisation (NICO) is holding a 1 day exclusive Niigata Agricultural and Food Products Promotional Exhibition* this October! Great opportunity to network among companies dealing in Niigata ingredients and processed products  \n \nLocated in the central part of Japan on the Japan Sea coast\, Niigata Prefecture is Japan’s most represented rice-producing region and is also very much to the fore in the production of sake which\, of course\, is made from rice.  Besides rice\, the prefecture is also famous for vegetables such as edamame (green soy beans) and kinoko mushrooms and fruits such as Echigohime strawberries and Le Lectier pears. \n  \nTakuma Seki\, a native of Niigata\, and head chef at Shangri-La’s Sentosa Resort and Spa\, will prepare a menu using produce and food from Niigata\, for tasting and sampling opportunity at the event.  The menu will include dishes using “omochi“(rice cakes) made from a type of rice that is not familiar to people in Singapore.     You will also be able to watch rice being pounded in the traditional way in order to make “omochi.“ \n  \n*Please note that this event is for members of the F&B trade only. \nRSVP your attendance to info@alchemist.sg
