Fun Cookie Decoration & Icing Class at Canadian International School (CIS)
Join us with your child for a fun morning of cookie decoration in the Kindergarten kitchen at the Canadian International School (CIS)!

This engaging, hands-on class led by Spoonful’s Icing Guru – Ms Mizuho, is a great way for you to spend some quality time bonding with your child and sharing precious moments together. It’s also a perfect opportunity to visit one of Singapore’s leading international schools and enjoy their state-of-the-art facilities.

This class is conducted mainly in the Japanese language. For non-Japanese speakers, interpretation of important points will be provided.

SCHEDULE
10:15 am-10:30 am: Registration
10:30 am -11:50 pm: Cookie Decorating session. Through lots of investigation and play, your child will get to develop their sensory skills and learn about texture, form and how to draw and decorate.
11:50 am – 12:30 pm: Pack up + enjoy light refreshments.
12:45 pm – 1:15 pm: A tour of CIS’ school campus led by Admissions team

ABOUT INSTRUCTOR
Mizuho is Spoonful’s instructor specializing in Icing & Cookie Decorations. In 2017, she attained her diploma in Icing and started to teach in Muchen, Germany. Now she teaches her specialty – icing class – at Spoonful Singapore. She cares deeply for the taste, design as well as food safety of her cookies. Mizuho is a mother of two to a lovely boy and a sweet little girl. Her classes can be kid-friendly as she is also very interactive with young children. Please enquire separately about private lessons and the lesson at children’s schools.
Certification:JSA（日本サロネーゼ協会公認）Icing Diploma.

ABOUT CIS’ INQUIRY AND PLAY-BASED TEACHING APPROACH
CIS places a strong emphasis on nurturing their youngest learners’ natural sense of curiosity through an engaging, hands-on, inquiry and play-based teaching approach. This approach is based on substantial research that shows young children who engage in play develop greater language skills, social skills, more empathy, imagination, and a better capacity to understand others.

CIS’s play-based approach is not a chaotic way of teaching, rather it provides the optimal balance between a classroom rich in child-initiated play and focused learning activities guided by our teachers. For example in numeracy, their students explore concepts through hands-on activities such as cooking for learning about measurement and coloured blocks for sorting and classifying. In literacy, students build their language skills through different oral and written activities including drawing, art, and music.
