I’ve been living in Singapore for over a year and a half now, and because I’ve always been out and about at various places on holidays, it is around this time that I somehow finally grasped the characteristics of the area that I’ve been living in.
This time, Aoki, a Spoonful representative and I covered food in the OUTRAM PARK area where a lot of CAFÉ & DINING shops with attractive interiors are located.
The interview this time is at the Restaurant and Bar called “POTATO HEAD”, located in a place less than 10 minutes walk from OUTRAM PARK MRT station.
Just between Keong Saik Rd and Teck Lim Rd, the building with 3 stories white and red lines on its facade is a relatively easy to find.
It seems that there is a different concept on each floor which gives it a fun atmosphere in the store. The burger shop is on the first floor, the dining on the second floor, the bar on the third floor and the rooftop bar on the fourth floor.
Our interview was scheduled at the rooftop bar, but I had some tea on the second-floor dining before that.
Cappuccino Mint sounds fragrant and tasty, so it seems like a good idea to just drop in for tea before I start my interview.
The second-floor dining has an impressive décor filled with wooden furniture and a humorous illustration depicted on the wall emitting a stylish and warm feeling.
When I went there, it was a Sunday afternoon, there were guests with children and their family and friends, and it the atmosphere was quite lively. Interior is cute so it looks like a good place for a date too.
I used the stairs on each floor, and it is made of checkered tiles against a colorful wall, I was interested in the distinctive stylishness of it all.
By the way, the bar on the third floor emits an interior of a calm giving off a more mature and adult atmosphere.
As we had tea at the dining area for about two hours, we eventually headed for the rooftop bar which starts service from 4 pm on Sundays. I order a Sundown Sunday since it is a Sunday.
“Sundown Sundays” is a set menu that was recently introduced by “POTATO HEAD”, and it is an all-you-can-eat and drink menu of “Satay ” and “Cocktails” for 3 hours.
It’s aptly named Sundown Sundays so from 4 pm to 7 pm during sunset, the free-flow service starts. Events such as DJ seem to start at night.
“Satay” is a local food in East Asia, with meat stringed onto a skewer and then barbercued or grilled.
In this plan “Satay Ayam (Chicken)” and “Sate Sapi (beef)” are all you can eat.
Eating a buffet but with only two kinds of options? What? Some people may be disappointed by this but I am convinced if I think of it as a snack menu. By the way, Shrimp crackers also follow as the side dish.
Taste wise, the seasoning is sweet with the sauce and moderately spicy. Meat is also soft and I feel like I can eat any number of sticks.
I have already gotten full with about 5 sticks of satay.
Drink wise, you can choose from eight different cocktails. We asked for “Aperol Sprints” “Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt” “Sailor Jerry Rum”.
You can also choose the way you like to drink it – with soda or on the rocks.
Work starts again from tomorrow and I think that I want to prepare the condition of the body at the beginning of the week, so I thought that the time of only 3 hours from the evening before to relax was really nice .
For people who like drinking, S$58 + + is reasonably affordable isn’t it?
At first, I focused on the food and alcohol, but the roof top bar also has a tropical atmosphere so there is this feeling of openness, and the breeze is also very comfortable. The time and day were beginning to slip us by, as we chatted into the sunset.
The next day is a Monday, but right now it is still Sunday – I thought feeling a little tipsy, that I could still fully enjoy the weekend.
